What is The Restoration Club?
We are a foundation for efficient ecosystem restoration. We are a small but determined group of people who understand all too well that promises and good intentions alone will not suffice.
Nature — both on our doorstep and far beyond — is crying out for help, though often in silence. At The Restoration Club, we answer that silence.
What is our mission?
Restoring the ecosystems that bring life and sound back. We plant forests, rebuild coral reefs and restore soil. And in that endeavour, laziness will not do.
Our Operations
Where do we plant trees, place coral fragments and restore soil?

What is meant by ‘nurseries’?
Our nurseries form the foundation of our operational locations. We need a facility to grow seedlings or coral fragments. And when it comes to organic waste — without an efficient setup, there is no compost.
How do we select project locations?
Efficiency, transparency, and tangibility are key. If we can find that in combination with a cultural and political environment that is favourable for long-term progress and protection, we take our next step. We do not mix with offset schemes, nor with projects that only focus on numbers rather than restoring healthy ecosystems.
How long does a project take?
Well, years probably. Of course, it could be that we run a small operation, when we have the chance to green up a rooftop, for example. However, some of the main locations, like Sumberkima, Mount Kenya, and the Araguaia Corridor, can use up to millions of seedlings and decades of maintenance and protection. But that’s okay. We are aware that you don’t plant a tree for yourself, but for the future.

What kind of partnerships are we looking for?
Mainly businesses and organisations that are already working in areas where their products or services naturally align with a greener future. And if they want to go further – to make a difference behind the scenes as well – that's where we come in. Whilst they focus on their strengths, we will ensure their contributions are put to work as efficiently and tangibly as possible.
What can you expect from us?
The Restoration Club is a recognised charity. This means we meet strict quality standards. It assures you that we contribute to a better world, handle every euro with care, and are accountable for our actions.
Everyone – both inside and outside your organisation – can see the good you're doing. They can even take part on behalf of your organisation in support of the cause you've chosen.
You might choose to make a monthly contribution based on your profits, or perhaps your team would prefer to fundraise once or a few times a year, for example during an event. It’s entirely up to you. You can communicate directly with our team, and together we will help you achieve your green goals.
Can partners visit projects?
Depending on the location, sure they can! The Restoration Club is a recognised charity. This means we meet strict quality standards. It assures you that we contribute to a better world, handle every euro with care, and are accountable for our actions. Therefore, being able to check on the projects we finance is indeed possible.
inance and Transparency
How do we keep the foundation running?
A maximum of 10% of every donation goes into a fund that supports the Club itself. However, when there is enough in that fund to cover our yearly costs, we direct that 10% towards the projects. So for us, 10% is an absolute maximum we want to set aside, meaning we aim to be so large a foundation one day that we run on just 1% of what comes in, using 99% for nothing else but the projects themselves.
How are results measured?
We measure results by sound. We all know what destruction sounds like,
and we know that silence is not a good fit for nature, but when you hear the reef crackling or the birds in the forests singing, we are on a healthy path again. But that’s just the storytelling side of our tale. When it comes to the more technical side of this work, it all comes down to numbers. How much is planted and, more importantly, how much of what we do survives in the long term. Rest assured, we publish those numbers as well and are constantly working to be more efficient with your donation, and more tangible with the outcome.

How can I make a donation?
