Undoq consists of two passionate filmmakers and friends, Semme de Loor and Ruben de Kemp. After several years of collaborating as freelancers, they decided to join forces in 2021 to create the media production company Undoq. Semme focuses on creative concepting and directing, while Ruben’s strength lies in cinematography as Director of Photography.
Welcome to the club, gentlemen. And tell us, what sparked a partnership with The Restoration Club?
From the moment we started Undoq, it was clear that we both had the ambition to focus not only on our commercial work but also on projects and organisations closer to our passion for sustainability. Over the past few years, we’ve been working on shifting our focus more and more towards our sustainable vision. Additionally, we are currently busy with our first own documentary project, with a socially responsible theme. A partnership with The Restoration Club simply fits well with that.
Is there a project of yours at the moment where you can already channel these ambitions?"
We are excited about A Starfish Story, a documentary project in Namibia that we’ve been working on for some time. The growing number of stray dogs there poses a danger to both the dogs themselves and the local people. We tell the story of a local veterinarian and his team who are attempting to solve this huge problem in a unique way. The result is a journey through this beautiful country, alongside a portrait of people who know no quit.
